Limousine Site Projects

by Jonathan on Aug.06, 2009, under SEO, SEO Projects

I am currently working on a SEO project for a Limousine Service company in the Tampa, FL area. Some techniques I am using though out this project are:

  • Link Building Campaigns
  • Optimization of the Site Content
  • Viral Marketing
  • User Interface Optimization

As for the link building campaigns this can  be done through purchasing quality links, creating a link exchange, or can be as easy as developing quality content so that your users link to you from their sites.

Optimizing the sites content is a simple but time consuming process. The main concerns in this would be having readable text yet still having keywords that you are trying to market through out the content of the site.

Currently there are Twitter, Facebook & MySpace accounts created and building a user base for them. Yes this is why you get requests from random companies you have never heard of on your social networks. However it does help cause the more buzz you create about your site and your company name the more people who will come to your site directly. This will help the SEO process cause the more visitors your site will receive will give you a boost cause Google and other search engines will notice and increase your ranking cause of the popularity of your site.

User Interface Optimization is a key part when designing a site. If your site is not easily navigated you will have a high bounce rate. Which will harm your ranking. Search engines notice this and will think you don’t have quality content and drop your position due to this. The best way to ensure you have a good user interface is make sure all of your contact information and forms are easily found, you don’t have a slow site, your images are loaded quickly, limit your images as much as possible, and don’t have annoying pop-ups or scripts when someone enters your site.

Well now that I have said all of that take a moment and let me know out of the 4 topics above what you think is most important.

Of the following subjects of website optimization which do you think is more important?

HostGator Review

by Jonathan on Dec.16, 2008, under Hosting Providers

Host Gator an excellent hosting provider!

Currently my web hosting provider is Host Gator. They provide an exceptional service I have recommended many of my friends and clients to them for their hosting. The are based out of Texas and even when the hurricane went through when I thought my hosting surely would go down temporarily it remained online. I have always had excellent customer service from them when calling and or emailing. I have even asked them questions the normal web host would not answer. Questions regarding unsupported scripts and .htaccess as well as various PHP problems when I was learning it. They have always come through. If you don’t get them for the the excellent pricing, get them for the support! You won’t be disappointed.

Local Listings on your website!

by Jonathan on Dec.16, 2008, under Make Money

I found an excellent service that allows you to help out your friends & earn money! Superpages.com is now providing a service called Superpages LocalServ(SM) it allows you to incorporate local business listings into your website and get paid on the clicks they acquire from your site. Plus the best thing about it is the user never leaves your website. The results are displayed on a page that you have already developed on your site. I find this extremely useful and beneficial to my end users of my website. Unfortunately the only method of payment is only check right now, so sorry Pay-pal users. But even still this is an excellent benefit for many people who can fine a use for this type of local search on their website.

Creating a new website with SEO in mind? (User Interface)

by Jonathan on Dec.15, 2008, under SEO

When you are developing your site keep in mind the user interface this will improve your conversion ratio. A conversion ratio is how many leads you receive out of all the visitors that come to your site. How does this improve your conversion ratio? It’s simple if you go to a website and you can’t navigate it easily or you have to search for the information your are looking for would you spend the time to do that? I wouldn’t in actuality most people won’t. Rule of thumb your only have about 5 seconds once you get someone to your website to actually capture the potential clients attention. This is why it is in best practice to keep your site as simple as possible.

If you have a quote or contact form on your website make sure you have a link to the form on all of your pages. It is also good to have a link to it in your header and/or menu. Limit the use of heavy graphics people do not want to be loading your page forever. You might think everyone has broadband by now. But in reality not everyone does or they may be on a mobile connection or slow DSL line. Also it is best to your a easily readable font some people don’t have the best eye site or are using a high monitor resolution (12 or 14 point is good). Use colors that don’t blend, if you have a background image be cautious on the variation in color that it might have.

Creating a new website with SEO in mind? (The Domain & Keyword Selection)

by Jonathan on Dec.14, 2008, under SEO

When you are selecting a domain name for your website don’t just think of it as your business name. Think of it as a marketing tool. Be sure to incorporate the primary keywords you want to have your site found under in the domain. For example a lot of companies will use their business name and then a keyword phrase that doesn’t sound out of the ordinary, something like this – titanlimo.com or titanairportlimo.com. This technique will increase your relevancy for the site and help out with your SEO efforts.

However before you buy your domain I would suggest doing some research with a keyword tool like the one Google provides. There are several others that you can find by a simple google search, however this is the one I use.  Also try to pick something that will be memorable by your clients to ensure you get returning visitors.

Creating a new website with SEO in mind? (Introduction)

by Jonathan on Dec.13, 2008, under SEO

Most people don’t realize but when you are developing a website you should do it with marketing in mind. Specifically search engine optimization (SEO), most of the time when a corporation or a large business develops a website for a new product or brand they are marketing they hire an SEO firm to consult their designers on how they should layout the site and develop the code.

When a search engine like google or yahoo index your website they don’t see it the way your end user or a person would see it if they were to go to your site. The way a search engine would see it is for example if you were to go to a website and right click on the browser window and choose the “view source option”. Depending on how the site is developed on the code level you can put your content higher on the page or lower on the page. Now you will want the content high on the source verses lower. This is because when a search engine indexes your site it will give your pages a relevancy and quality score based on how frequently and how prominent your keywords are in your content. Keep in mind your content should have between 550 and 700 words with your primary keywords speckled throughout it. Your keywords should also be with in your title tag and meta keyword tags.

The best technologies to develop a website for SEO purposes are currently CSS and PHP. The use of a lot of graphic links is discouraged, their are SEO friendly techniques to place an image behind a text link to achieve a similar effect though CSS however if you do not know CSS and you don’t have a lot of time to spend learning it perhaps you should consider just using a text link or using a pre-built script from HotScripts or another online script source.

by Jonathan on Dec.13, 2008, under General Information

From my experience working in the Internet Marketing industry I have come across so many small to medium size business owners who don’t know where to start when it comes to marketing on the Internet. That’s why I have chosen to start a blog focusing on providing knowledge to the normal person in terms they can understand. Hopefully by having this blog I can help educate the community in terms of Internet Marketing & Web Design both of which I have a large interest in. I also hope to maybe attain more information to grow my knowledge in other subjects I may not have a wealth of information in. In this blog I hope to touch subjects like “How can I get more solidified leads from my online marketing?”, “Which is better for me SEO or SEM?” and several other questions. If you have input or questions you would like answered feel free to email me.
